Mystic Mint Tea Blend
Ah, the tea ceremony! A ceremony or ritual is simply an act we perform with intention and presence. When I brew my tea, I often allow myself to feel surrounded by those I’d like to invite to the table for a visit. Sometimes, this is my ancestors, a friend, or my daughter,
Sometimes, I wish to invite a part of myself I’ve been unkind to for lack of understanding.
For lack of patience. For lack of experience.
It is a potent practice for me to sit at the table or on my fluffy couch cushion),
( sip, and taste the tea, as opposed to rushing out the door and gulping it down along the
highway while I curse out the truck that just cut me off in the passenger lane.
The tea ceremony has a positive impact on the digestive hub. “Rest and digest”
function can be initiated by being present with the cup of tea as you take in the smell, notice where you feel that
first sip on the tongue, and then follow it down the body, believing your body’s response to it as this response sits
with you at the table. Be Present. Breathe. Notice. Note. Believe. These steps lead the body to trust that rest
and digest, parasympathetic mode, is a good idea. And as we know, it most certainly is!
